What is Through Hole PCB Assembly?

After insertion, the leads are soldered on the opposite side of the board to create a secure connection. For this assembly technique, a plated through-hole is required—these are drilled and plated holes in the PCB that are sized appropriately to accommodate the component leads. Two Types of Lead Formats That Are Used for THT Components:
