What is PCB Assembly?

We work with two types of components for Through-Hole Technology (THT) assembly: axial lead and radial lead components. An axial lead component has leads that extend along its axis, while a radial lead component features leads that run perpendicular to its major axis.
Once the components are inserted automatically and undergo the wave soldering process, we conduct thorough PCB testing to ensure quality. This testing identifies any electrical openings or shorts by measuring the node-to-node resistance when electrical current is applied, ensuring your circuit boards meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Basic Processes in Printed Circuit Assembly
Solder Paste Printing: The first step in PCBA is solder paste printing, where solder paste is applied to the PCB using a screen printing technique. We use lead-free SAC solder paste (Tin, Silver, and Copper alloy) to comply with regulations on hazardous substances. The solder paste, made of epoxy resin and metal filler, is evenly distributed onto the stencil apertures by a squeegee passing through a metal mesh.
Component Placement: In the component placement process, an automated pick-and-place machine picks and positions the required components on the PCB, based on the programmed orientation. The tackiness of the solder paste temporarily holds the components in place for the next step.
Once the components are placed, the PCB is sent through a reflow oven. The board is preheated to a lower temperature to allow for proper outgassing of the flux and thermal conditioning of the components. The temperature is then ramped up to peak levels, melting the solder paste. Afterward, the temperature is cooled to cure and fully cross-link the solder. This process can be done using infrared radiation (IR) or convective hot air.
